Emily Byrne

General Manager - Garnier & New Brands, L'Oréal

With over 15 years’ experience at L’Oréal, working across iconic beauty brands from high luxury Yves Saint Laurent Beauté to everyday household favourites like Garnier, Emily Byrne is a business leader, creative marketer and Marketing Academy Scholar.

She has worked in both global, local and regional marketing roles, always striving for greater consumer understanding, crunchier insights and more memorable campaigns.

On one side of her family, Emily comes from a long line of actuaries and accountants, and on the other side she descends from teachers and psychotherapists. This mix of coach, counsellor and calculator are what Emily suspects make her a rounded marketer.

Having lived on every continent (except Antarctica), Emily’s fascination with global dynamics led to her doing a Master’s in International Development from the School of African and Oriental Studies. She is passionate about centring a more diverse and inclusive spaces, where everyone is welcome.

Emily is a published poet and holder of a Master’s in Modern and Medieval Languages from Cambridge University. Above everything she believes in the power of words to open doors to new ideas.

She is also a mother of two, and in her spare time, looks forward to having hobbies again one day.
